I will not be shackled by
those tame stereotypes
I was born free to celebrate
my different stripes
- Meera Sharath Chandra
Every tiger in the world is unique. No two tigers have the same pattern of stripes.
I am Meera Sharath Chandra. Founder CEO and CCO of a digital-led integrated communication agency called Tigress Tigress. In my 35 years in the business across the US, the UK, Hong Kong and India I have lived, worked and flourished in environments of diversity.
I am a strong believer in nurturing our individual thumbprints and in celebrating our rich and varied experience and viewpoints. Whoever we are, whatever our DNA and wherever in the world we roam.
It has its challenges, but they are not insurmountable. It has life lessons, but they make for invaluable learnings. It has bad days, but the good days turn out infinitely better. I have been there, through that – enough to passionately advocate that it can work. In powerful, brilliant and often magical ways.
I have spent years giving global corporations and brands their own definitive identities and values. I increasingly realise that the most fulfilling moments of the business I am in – the joy of hitting upon a path-breaking strategy, the delight of creating big audacious ideas, the high of winning awards and jury positions – they apply equally to being truly human and living the real life. I owe it to my calling – and to the world – to transpose the same thinking to my interactions.
When you cherish someone as unique, when you champion that individuality, when you challenge the comfort of sameness, you win it all. Which is why, I am delighted that there is no one quite like me – and I am equally thrilled that there is no one quite like you. We are different. Amazingly, astoundingly so. And that is how we were meant to be.
Join me as I try to create a positive pattern of life from all our distinctly disparate stripes.
